Laser Treatments
Pre-Procedure:

No prolonged sun exposure 2 weeks prior to treatment

Arrive to your appointment with clean, freshly shaved skin
Post-Procedure:
-
Redness & bumps after your treatment are normal

You can use a cold compress for comfort, aloe gel, and/or hydrocortisone
-

Treated hair may not shed for several weeks
-
The day of treatment:
-
Avoid irritation, friction, & sweating
-
No strenuous activity
-

No spray tans/prolonged sun exposure to the treated area for 2 weeks prior to treatment (this includes tanning beds)

No waxing, sugaring, electrolysis, tweezing in between treatments - shaving is OK
-
Hydrocortisone is OK to use as needed for irritation & itching
-
Oral antihistamine if redness, irritation, or swelling continues
Laser Hair Removal
IPL
Pre-Procedure:

No prolonged sun exposure 2 weeks prior to treatment

Arrive to your appointment with clean, freshly shaved skin
Post-Procedure:

Apply cold compress, if needed

Normal responses:

Feels like you have a sunburn
-
Dark spots get darker

Face will appear more red

Makeup is OK after

Continue normal skincare routine
Laser Veins
Pre-Procedure:

Post-Procedure:

Cool compress

Topical hydrocortisone

SPF

Things to avoid:

Exercise for 72 hours

Increased blood pressure for 3-5 days

Hot showers, steam, & saunas

Purpura (purple-colored spots/patches on the skin) may occur & typically resolve within 14 days

For spider veins on legs: sleep with legs elevated for 3-5 days, compression stockings recommended

Should have gradual fading over weeks to months
Benign Pigmented Lesions
Pre-Procedure:

No prolonged sun exposure 2 weeks prior to treatment

Arrive to your appointment with clean, freshly shaved skin
Post-Procedure:
-
Brown spot should darken & get red, form a crust, then slough off
-
Crust should resolve within 1-2 weeks
-
Do NOT pick at this!

Can apply aquaphor to treated areas
